CorvAIRCRAFT College V
This time it's on the west coast!
...and as always, it's FREE!

Jan 17-18, 2004

Hanford Municipal Airport, Hanford CA

What is Corvair College?

Corvair College is a weekend long hands-on workshop, hosted by the Corvair Authority himself, William Wynne. Traditionally this event is held on Memorial Day weekend, at William Wynne's hangar in Daytona Beach FL, but it's been moved around from time to time. Last summer is was held at Sun-N-Fun, Broahead, and to a degree, OSH. During the proceeding winter, it was held in San Antonio Texas. We've attempted 2 West Coast events in the past, dubbed "Jr. College", as William was not in attendance. This West Coast event is a full-on College, as William will be present.

Bring your old dirty core engine or your cleaned up new parts, ...or anything in between. Bring your tools, questions, good attitude, chair, camera, warm work clothes, hand cleaner and rags, along with a cooler full of your favorite beverage. Be prepared to work on your engine, someone else's engine, or just hang out and learn all you can, while absorbing and distributing the usual hangar talk BS.

We will have a classroom time in the morning, very informal, Q and A, donuts and coffee, with William giving one of his infamous lectures on the virtues of the Corvair for experimental aviation. Bring your manual, as well as a notepad.

If you have an engine ready to run, and would like to have it test run on our engine stand, under the direct supervision of William Wynne, contact Pat or William. We'll do all we can to be prepared to make this happen for you. If you have a propeller that you'd like to see run on the engine test stand, bring that as well. It might be advisable to bring prop bolts if you have them, in case your hub thickness id different than the one currently on the test stand.

Bring your distributor too. We may have a distributor machine available to do the advance re-curving.

This event is free. William will have for sale, some of his custom parts, as well as his manual
